Tchoupitoulas Art Corridor
Katrina 20 Design Fundraiser Champaign
Every little bit counts
We have launched crowdfunding efforts to commemorate Katrinas historical mark on New Orleans by adding it into the Tchoupitoulas Art Corridor mural project.
About TAC
When finished, this mural will be the longest mural in the USA. With a total of 6 phases, the mural will be nearly a mile long. In Phase 1, we completed 600 linear feet (2018-2020). In Phase 2, we completed 600 linear feet (2021-2024). The total linear feet completed so far is 1,200 feet. We are currently fundraising for Katrina 20 as part of phase 3 and YOU can help us complete the remanding 3,795 linear feet with your contributions!
The Mural design will read through a chronological landscape of before middle and end.
New Orleanian young adults will be given stipends to work on the mural.
Our design process for the mural will involve community feedback for what is included in the design

Project Lead by New Orleanian Artist: Jamar Pierre
This is a simple one to explain. Jamar Pierre started this organization with one goal…turn the floodwall into a work of art. This project is about beautifying a transitional corridor, maintaining the cultural identity of a rapidly gentrifying city, and giving New Orleans the longest mural in the world while connecting its subjects to the long and dynamic cultural history of the city.
